Welcome to Special Occasion Poetry
We provide a professional and personal service - working with you to design bespoke poetry for your special occasion - or that special person!
Our main focus is bespoke wedding poetry, but we also create poems for many other occasions including Baby Naming Days, Baby Shower, Hen and Stag 'do's', Valentines, an Anniversary, special Birthday, Pregnancy, Retirement or Funeral.
We supply an initial questionnaire specific to the event in question, for you to fill in at your leisure and return and continue to work with you until you are happy with the finished product.

‘Ella and Ben’
By Ginny Walker, 6 September 2008
Material written for a Baby Naming Day
The true depth of what we feel
Could never truly be put into words
But the love we have for you
Ella and Ben
Is immeasurable
From the moment you blessed our lives
We were breath-taken
Our hearts, stolen
There are no two people
We are more in love with in the world
Than you
And that sentiment
We hope you take with you
Through all your growing up years
For the rest of your life
For you have affected us
In such a beautiful incredible way
For the rest of ours
With all our love,
Your mummy and daddy

‘So Blessed’
By Ginessa Rowson, August 2006
Material written for a Wedding Day
Never could I believe
That I could be so blessed
That my heart could be so loved
My world so complete
At this time, in this moment
This is real and you are here before me
My eyes are open
My soul breathes in you
And I am rich beyond my wildest dreams
Never could I imagine
A love so solid in its foundation
So secure in its entirety
So honest in its heart
As I place my hand in your hand
I place my trust, my life
With you, my love
So Blessed continued...

Will bind us forever
Never have I known such beauty
Such truth

‘I Need to Give Birth’ (Excerpt)
By Ginny Walker
When I look in the mirror
And view the beach ball
I can’t quite believe
It’s part of me at all
A balloon on a lolly stick
A more accurate term
With the skin on my tummy
Becoming ever more firm
My back’s fit for breaking
And the pressure below
Is a constant reminder
Of the moment ‘I’ll know’
When I’m finally in bed
And I’m closing my eyes
My bladder is bounced on
Without compromise
So I’m out to the bathroom
Again and again
My body requiring
A need to know WHEN!!

‘Happy Ever After’ (Excerpt)
By Ginny Walker
...
When we’re snuggled up watching a romantic flick
And chatting into the small hours
When we’re fighting to cram things into the fridge
When expecting a big crowd at ours
When we’re each lighting candles for people we’ve lost
And shedding a few silent tears
When we’re watching our little girl growing up fast
And treasuring these happy years
When we’re older and wiser and nothing else matters
And we’re sporting a few more grey hairs
When we’re on that veranda with the dog at our side
Creaking away in our teak rocking chairs
We’ll remember the magic that brought us together
The rings that bind us for life
The love that we have for now and forever
As happy ever after husband and wife

Testimonials : Caroline, Hampshire
'Ginny's poem perfectly summarised the relationship between Pete and myself [and subsequently our 3 children!] from that dreaded first date to the present day!
We will treasure it and hope in the future it gives our children an insight into our lives together.
A big thank you to Ginny for coming up with a great idea which I'm sure will take off!'
Testimonials : Sasha, Kent
'I answered Ginny's questionnaire and we had a chat and I didn't think I had put across what I wanted to say, but when the piece came through, I was totally blown away.
Not only had she captured the essence of what I wanted to say, the tone and structure was as if I had written it and was saying it to my husband.
It was perfect in every way.
My husband was extremely moved by it and it was so much better than any gift I could have bought - he will have it forever as something truly special.
Giving words can mean so much more than just any old gift.'
